Ryo Kyusu from Saliu made by master potter Hirotaka Umehara
This Ryo series teapot is handmade by second generation Tsumugi craftsman Mr. Hirotaka Umehara for Saliu, Japan. In 1988 Mr. Umehara established Tamamitsu Touen Co and in 1997 Built the Anagama kiln (Shiinoki kiln)
The red clay used to create this kyusu contains high levels of iron. When baked at very high temperature it is carbonised to produce a rich black colour.
- There is a ceramesh (fine ceramic tea strainer) inside
- Size: approx 16cm length including handle, 13cm width with spout, 10.5cm body diameter, 9cm handle height, 7.5cm body height with lid
