A fantastic hojicha with deep roasted flavours, created from a blend of cultivars from the Kinpouen farm. This hojicha is made with both stem and leaf so it has a lovely balance of roast and sweeter flavour notes.
Matsue has colder winters than many tea producing regions with a fair amount of snow. As a result, the leaves of the tea plants here tend to be thicker - meaning there is more “flesh” - which leads to a richer aroma and flavour in the teas.
Steeping Notes: 4g | 300ml | 90°C | 1-2mins
This hojicha also makes a fantastic cold brew.

About Kinpoen Seicha:
Established in 1953, Kinpoen Seicha is currently headed by Chisato Notsu, a single mother to three children. She runs the farm with her father, Kimio, and younger sister, Yuri. Situated in Oi Town, surrounded by abundant nature with views of Mt. Daisen on the shores of Lake Nakaumi, they are a full-time tea farm that uses spring water from "Menui," the first of Shimane's 100 Famous Waters, to produce tea in their own tea.
