Hojicha Discovery Box

This hojicha selection box offers a taste of different Japanese roasted green teas allowing you varying levels of roast and leaf type

Hojicha varies greatly depending on how the plants are cultivated and the finishing processing. This tea is naturally low in caffeine as the roasting process removes most of the caffeine from the leaves. This box contains a selection of five different types of roasted green tea from around Japan.

In the box: 

1. Chiyonoen: Osobuki Hojicha 20g

   This is a kuki hojicha meaning it is made from tea stems. The roast is fairly light giving it a grassy, hay like aroma with deep toasted notes. 

2. Obubu: Genmai Hojicha 20g

   Medium roast green tea blended with toasted mochi rice. A delicious nutty and slightly fruity hojicha

3. Uejima: Sannen Bancha 20g

   Three year aged bancha tea. These mature green tea leaves are roasted after harvesting and then left to age for three years.

4. Yusando: Houjiro Hojicha 20g

   Delicious medium roas, naturally grown hojicha from Nara. You can brew this tea for longer to get a darker more chocolatey brew or lighter for a sweeter toastier infusion.

5. Ohana Botanica: Menehune 10g                                                                                                                                                                                                        Blended hojicha tea from Shiuoka with sansho pepper and ginger. This tea has delightful citrus and warming ginger flavour mixed with the delicate toastiness of the hojicha stems and leaves.
