Sakura Ema Prayer Board from Aga-jinja, Shiga
Ema prayer boards are found all over Japan in Buddhist and Shinto shrines. Ema are seen hanging at the shrine and temple grounds with prayers written on the back.
This ema is from the Tarobo Shine or Aga-jinja in Shiga. The shrine is half way up Mt. Akagamiyama and has history back to 1400 years. People visit this shine to ward off evil as well as to pray for good luck in life and in buiness.
