Izumo Kuromatsu Reiwa, Black Pine Bead Bracelet from Shimane

On April 18 1971 the 22nd National Tree Planting Festival was held in Shimane Prefecture, where emperor Showa and Empress Kajun were welcomed to plant Izumo black pine trees.

At that time, the Emperor and Empress planted three Izumo black pine trees. This festival is important even for the Emperor's family.

At that time, about 10,000 people from both in and out of the prefecture gathered, and about 10,000 trees were planted to commemorate the ceremony event.

Izumo Kuromatsu is a tree that grows mainly along the coastline of the Sanin region, and is known as a very strong tree.

The black pine of Izumo appears in the mythology story, like "Kojiki" and "Nihon Shoki", as an important site in Japanese.

These bracelets are very rare as they are made from some of the wood from this auspicious event.
