Ohmitogei: Mudsai Teacup
Ohmitogei: Mudsai Teacup
Yunomi Teacup by Ohmi Ceramic Research Centre
This Kusatsu-yaki teacup is made using local iron rich clay from the Kusatsu area.
The teacup is characterised by its round ergonomic shape. The rim has an indentation that follows the lower lip, making it easy to drink.
Mud painting: This is a unique manufacturing method in which a specially formulated mud containing iron is applied over the clay. The mud is sprayed with a sprayer to create texture and contrasting colours of light and shade.
