Izumo Seicha: Kiwami Izumocha Sencha 2024

This Kiwami Izumocha is a blended sencha green tea created from three cultivars grown at Izumo Seicha tea garden. 

We now have 2024 First flush spring harvest available.

This kiwami izumosencha is created with a blend of cultivars with higher ratio of Saemidori to Okumidori and the smallest amount of Yabukita. This balance of cultivars means that this blend has slightly more umami than the standard izumosencha.  

Each cultivar is shaded for a different amount of time. The shading time varies from year to year depending on the chlorophyll content in the leaves. This will be measured and the leaves picked when they have reached their optimum condition. 

• Saemidori: 12 days 
• Okumidori: 8 days 
• Yabukita: 6-10days 

By balancing this blend of cultivars in the teas Izumo Seicha can create different and interesting sencha teas with varying levels of umami.
