Futaoki literally mens "lid rest" in Japanese. Futaoki are utensils used as part of a matcha tea ceremony. These stands are used to rest the kama (kettle) lid as well as resting the hishaku (bamboo ladle).Â
This vintage futaoki has a pattern of ginko leaves with gold detail.
