Single Cultivar Japanese Black Tea
Small Batch, Naturally Grown Teas from Isshin-en, Miyazaki Prefecture
40g
Yamanami is a rare cultivar primarily grown in Miyazaki prefecture for Kamairicha, pan fired, green tea. Isshin-en has chosen to use this cultivar to produce a black tea that has a pleasant balance of light spice and malt with gentle date like sweetness. It has a medium body and smooth mouthfeel. There is a gentle floral aroma that gradually develops as you enjoy each sip.
Isshin-en focuses on working with nature rather than against it. The teas are all grown with a deep respect for their surrounding environment and the biodiversity found around their tea fields.
These single cultivar wakocha varieties from Isshin-en represent part of a growing movement in Japan to produce high-quality black teas that showcase the unique characteristics of Japanese tea cultivars and terroir.
