Obubu Tea Farm: Genmai Hojicha
This hojicha from Kyoto Obubu Tea Farm has been created with roasted bancha green tea blended with toasted brown mochi rice

This hojicha has a rich woody flavour with sweet and nutty aroma. The roasted green tea has very little bitter or astringent flavour and the roasting has removed most of the caffeine from the leaves.
Steeping Notes: 5g | 1min | 90°C | 100ml
The rice used in this genmaicha is unpolished brown "mochi-gome". As teh rice is unrefined it holds more vitamins and minerals. The rice is toasted making it crunchy and flavourful.

Kyoto Obubu Tea Farms is a Japanese tea brand owned and operated by tea farmers in the town of Wazuka, Kyoto. Started by Akihiro Kita and Yasuharu Matsumoto in 2004, the company began as an agricultural social venture. Akky and Matsu's aim was and still is, to teach tea lovers both in Japan and overseas about the value of tea farming, and to contribute to society through tea.
