Ema prayer boards are found all over Japan in Buddhist and Shinto shrines. Ema are seen hanging at the shrine and temple grounds with prayers written on the back.
This ema is from Hakone-jinja in Kanagawa. This shrine stands at the foot of Mt.Hakone next to Lake Ashinoko where the famous tori gate known as the "red gate of peace" sits on the waters edge.
